(no subject)

There is no joy in Mudville.

The kids took the Physics test this morning. I didn't know exactly what that meant. How can they give a test the day before graduation? I thought perhaps it was only a formality.

It wasn't.

Of the 20 kids who took the test, only 3 passed. Raederle didn't pass, but she didn't need the credit to graduate. Travanti did.

So ...

No walking across the stage in cap and gown tomorrow. No rejoicing of parents, aunts and uncles. No party. No graduation presents.

No going to Chicago in two weeks to pick out an apartment. No moving to Chicago at the end of July.

No money from his grandfather's trust fund until the diploma is granted.

In August, he will have to take a two week review course, then retake the test on the 15th. He's nowhere near ready to do that. So between now and then, we will do physics for an hour every day.
